Chuck is a former CAS Secretary (1996-1997) and is currently chairman of the Publicity Committee and a
member of the Birdland Committee. Kathy is CAS Board Member-at-Large. They own a 15" Obsession, an 8" Celestron SCT, 16x70 Fujinon binoculars,
and a 60mm Tasco refractor.
Dr. Jerry Galloway is a professor of Instructional Technology at Indiana
University Northwest and the astronomy lecturer for Royal Caribbean Cruise
Lines. He built his own observatory in his backyard and works on
astro-photography with an LX200GPS-12 inch and an LX90-8 inch. You can visit his

Fred Gnerlich has been a member of the CAS since December 1990. He has served as Equipment Chairman and currently owns a Televue Genesis 4" refractor, a 4.5" Dobsonian reflector, and 11x80 binoculars. Fred enjoys lunar observing and recently completed building a 12.25" f/8.2 Dobsonian reflector.
Jim Lamm has been a member of the Calumet Astronomical Society since
September of 1996. Jim's interest in astronomy began 35 years ago when he
received his first telescope -- a 4" Criterion reflector which is still in
use. Since that time he has acquired a 6" Meade Starfinder reflector and an
80mm University Optics refractor. Jim's favorite astronomical targets
include lunar observation and various nebulae and globular clusters. Jim is a former CAS Treasurer and Birdland Observatory Chairman.
Steve has been a member since 1987. He served as President for 5 years (1989-1994) and has also served as newsletter editor and programs director. Steve also did a program for three years for Channel 56 called "Sky Watch." He owns a 20-inch Obsession, a Celestron C-8, and an Orion Short Tube-80 refractor. He currently teaches Creation Science seminars for churches and schools.
Jack is a former newsletter co-editor and former Programs Chairman. Jack
likes to observe star clusters and planets and his equipment includes a Cave 8-inch reflector,
a Celestron C-8, and Minolta 10 x 50 binoculars.
Terry has been a member since 1992 and most recently served as CAS President for 1997 and 1998. Prior to that, he served two years as
Vice President. Terry owns a Celestron C-8 (orange tube) and a pair of Orion Vista 7x50 binoculars. His main astronomy interest
is searching for "faint fuzzies" (distant galaxies), and other deep-sky objects such as globular clusters and planetaries. He also
enjoys basic astrophotography.
Craig is the current CAS Vice President, a former President (1995 & 1996) and Vice President
(1994). He owns a JMI NGT 12.5" Newtonian, 80m University Optics refractor, and
Celestron 8x56 binoculars.
